TAWAU, SABAH – The MADANI Rakyat Programme 2025 Sabah, a three-day government outreach initiative, successfully concluded in Tawau, East Sabah, solidifying the government’s commitment to eradicating poverty and boosting regional economies.

Held from May 9 to 11, 2025, at the Tawau Municipal Council Square, the event was spearheaded by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in partnership with the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP) and the Sabah State Government.

Focus: Empowerment and Cost of Living

The programme adopted the core theme, "Ending Poverty Through Entrepreneurship." Its primary goal was to connect public services and economic opportunities directly to rural communities and the B40 group.

  • Entrepreneurial Support: Focused on the economic empowerment theme, the programme featured 120 entrepreneurs from the One District One Industry (SDSI) initiative, giving them crucial market access.

The programme was officially closed by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on May 11, marking a significant step in the efforts to achieve equitable development under the national MADANI Economy framework.

This initiative ensured that crucial government support and services reached the far-eastern region of Sabah.
