MELAKA, Malaysia – Melaka will host Hari Koperasi Negara (HKN) 2025, celebrating the cooperative movement's impact on Malaysia's socio-economic development. The event runs from July 25-27, 2025, at the Melaka International Trade Centre, organized by the Malaysian Cooperative Commission (SKM) and the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (KUSKOP), and is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors.
The theme "Koperasi Pemacu Ekonomi MADANI" (Cooperatives as the Engine of the MADANI Economy) highlights the cooperative sector's role in fostering inclusive growth, especially for the B40 group. Objectives include raising awareness of cooperatives, recognizing their contributions, and encouraging the formation of new cooperatives.
HKN 2025 will feature over 200 stalls showcasing a variety of products. The official launch, expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on July 27, aims to engage the community and boost the local economy. With over 16,200 cooperatives and 7.2 million members in Malaysia, HKN 2025 will significantly impact both the cooperative movement and Melaka's tourism. Visitors are encouraged to join the celebrations at MITC from July 25 to 27 to experience the vibrancy and significant role of Malaysian cooperatives firsthand.
